Eligible Patrons:

Landmark faculty, students, and staff may submit requests. Special arrangements may be made for visiting scholars. Materials requested through ILL should support the curriculum, research, or professional development directly related to the patron's job at Landmark College or to the mission of the college.

Materials Available Through ILL:

Books usually can be borrowed without restrictions, although some materials may be restricted to use within the Library. Libraries do not loan periodicals but will send photocopies of periodical articles. While audiovisual materials and sound recordings are becoming more easily obtainable through ILL, rare books, manuscript collections and non-circulating reference materials are usually unavailable for loans. Exceptions do exist, so please check with the ILL librarian if you wish to borrow these materials.

Materials Not Available Through ILL:

• Books published in the last six months
• Bound periodicals volumes and entire periodical issues
• Reserved materials
• Reference books and materials
• Rare, valuable, or fragile items
• Duplicates of materials owned by the Landmark College Library, unless lost

Does the Library have immediate access to your material?

The material you want may be available in the Library or on one of its online databases. By spending a few moments to see if the material is immediately available, you may significantly reduce the time it takes to get want you want:

Requesting a book or video? Search WebCat, our online catalog.

Requesting an article? We might own the journal, magazine, or newspaper, or one of our online databases may have your article in full text.

Search our Serials Solutions database to see if the magazine, journal, or newspaper of your article is available in full text in one of our other databases or in our print periodical collection.

Processing Time:

Request forms are available at the Main Desk. Please fill out as completely as possible. Incomplete forms will be returned to the patron, resulting in delays in processing and filling requests. Completed forms may be given to the staff member on duty at the Main Desk.

Plan ahead when making requests. Requests are processed within 1-2 days. Loans generally take 7-14 business days to arrive, but sometimes can take up to 3 weeks.

Loan Periods:

The lending institution determines the loan period. Renewals should be requested only when necessary. Renewal requests should be made 2-3 days prior to the due date.

When requested materials arrive, a note or email will be sent to the patron. Be sure to check your email daily. Materials will be held in the Circulation/ILL Office. Please ask for them at the Main Desk.

Return ILL materials to the Circulation/ILL office or drop in book drop. DO NOT leave them on the Main Desk.

Cost:

There is no fee for requests. However, the Interlibrary Loan office reserves the right to establish

charges in advance for excessive requests.

Lost/Damaged/Overdue Fees:

Borrowers will be charged for lost, damaged, or overdue materials. Bills for lost, damaged, or overdue

materials are generated from the lending libraries and passed on to the patron. An additional

processing fee of $15.00 per item will be added to the lending library's bill. Please note that the

average charge is $100.00 per missing item.

Restrictions:

The ILL Office will process 5 requests per day per patron during busy periods. A group of more than 5

requests should be prioritized from most needed to least. The ILL Office reserves the right to limit the

use of ILL service when requests are deemed inappropriate or excessive. Requests of materials for

personal interest will be accepted but will not receive the highest priority due to resource limitations.

Questions:

Please contact Marianne Sanders, Head of Circulation and Interlibrary Loan, for information on the
